About Palmyra Volunteer Fire Department
Our Mission
Palmyra Volunteer Fire Department is dedicated to protecting lives, property, and the environment of our community through professional fire suppression, emergency medical services, rescue operations, and hazardous materials response. We are committed to serving with integrity, courage, and compassion.
Our History
For nearly 30 years, Palmyra Volunteer Fire Department has proudly served the communities of Palmyra, Cumberland Heights, Sailors Rest, Shiloh, and Hackberry. Established in 1995, our department has grown from a small group of dedicated volunteers to a professional organization operating two fire stations and maintaining a fleet of eight emergency response vehicles.
Throughout our history, we have remained committed to the core values that founded our department: service, dedication, and community. Our volunteer firefighters train continuously to maintain the highest standards of emergency response, ensuring that when our neighbors need us most, we are ready to answer the call.
